the status of their applications online on the E-DV website:
To check the DV entry status online, you need the information on your Submission Confirmation page. The confirmation page was displayed when you successfully submitted your Diversity Visa (DV) lottery entry. You need the Confirmation Number, Last/Family Name (optional), and Year of Birth on the confirmation page.
Additionally, Entrant Status Check will provide successful selectees instructions on how to proceed with their application.

Thank you for the information!!! nothing else worked, I was trying tons of times using either Explorer or Firefox from my main computer (the one I submitted my entry info. from)w/o success. I took your advice and used my netbook (Windows XP)and it worked right away without any problems!
The conclusion (since so many have this problem): You might have to use a different computer than the one you applied from!

Where and how to check the October selection results please suggest. Today is October 10th already, we tried to check the results of October by entering our details in the Entrant Status site https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/ but it still says "the Entry HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED for further processing for the Electronic Diversity Visa program at this time. More entries will be selected in early October 2012, so please keep your confirmation information until at least that time". Therefore, please kindly either arrange to update the information if the new entrants are already selected and we are not in the new results as well or help and at least let us know how to check the October results if any selection has been done at all. Otherwise we will be compelled to understand that the US government is also fooling people and the information they provide are all bullshit and unreliable.
