South Korea, Ethiopia sign loan, aid agreement of 1.5 billion Birr


The Government of South Korea and Ethiopia signed on Friday loan and aid agreement of 1.5 billion Birr.
 The agreement was signed between Ethiopia’s Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Sufian Ahmed and South Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia, Jong King Kim.


Speaking on the occasion, Sufian said 1.35 billion Birr secured in loan would be used for the electric power transmission project of Sululta - Gebreguracha.
 The balance which is obtained in the form of assistance would be used for providing technical education and training to some 300 children of Ethiopian veterans who fought in the Korean War.

 The Ambassador for his part said his country’s support to Ethiopia would continue. (ERTA)
