Addis Ababa City Administration inaugurated over 20,000 condominium houses

The Addis Ababa City Administration inaugurated on Saturday over 20 thousand condominium houses. Beneficiaries received keys of their new houses.
 Speaking at the inauguration of the condominium houses built at Lideta area, Prime Minster Hailemariam Desalegn said preparation is underway to start new registration in a bid to make residents of Addis Ababa beneficiaries of the housing development program.

Hailemariam also disclosed that a system would be implemented to make civil servants benefit more from the housing program. The Premier appreciated those who were willing to leave the area for the realization of the model housing program in Lideta area.
 Addis Ababa City Mayor Kuma Demeksa also thanked residents cooperated by leaving the area saying they are part of the success. The City Administration is working to make citizens owners of house by implementing coordinated housing development program, Kuma said.

 The City Administration inaugurated 20 thousand 330 condominium houses in Lideta, Jemo and Summit sites.
 The Lideta site which is taken as a model for the reconstruction of slam areas in the city has 1,985 houses built at a cost of 479 million Birr out of which 102 million Birr was allocated by the City Administration as a subsidy for modern infrastructure. (ERTA)
